May is always a busy time in motorsport and the last weekend of May 2017 was no exception.
The Monaco Grand Prix, Indy 500 and the Nurburgring 24hr to name a few. We headed out to Germany as guests of Falken to experience the truly unique endurance race. There are other 24hr races – but none as challenging, the rate at which cars retire is unlike any other event, as is the atmosphere which is electrifying. Le Mans is famous for its beer walls and drunken antics but nothing prepares you for a night time walk in the woods of the Eiffel region, the madest and friendliest race fans you will ever meet. On track the action was even more furious. The pole sitting SCG003C set the early pace but was unable able to hold off the hard charging number 29 Audi R8 LMS. The Audi dominated the race until trouble struck in the final few hours of the race, remarkably a rain shower in the last 30 minutes allowed them to once again regain the lead and take a well earned victory ahead of the ROWE BMW M6. Here is our postcard from the Nurburgring 24hrs.
